Penajam Paser Utara Tax Revenue Hits 66% of 2025 Target by Q3

Penajam Paser Utara collected Rp60 billion in taxes by Q3 2025, reaching 66 % of the Rp90 billion target. Tax head Hadi Saputro said the result shows a positive trend compared with last year’s sub‑50 % achievement.

The district levies 13 types of local taxes; the goods and services tax (PBJT) on hotel services performed best, achieving 171 % of its target, while the PBJT on food and beverage exceeded 110 % of its goal. Other revenues include PBJT for arts and entertainment of Rp64.39 million, advertising tax of Rp1.14 billion, and electricity PBJT of Rp10.89 billion.

Some taxes, such as the Land and Building Acquisition Duty (BPHTB), remain far below target because many property transactions are not followed by immediate name‑change procedures. The 11 recorded tax categories generated a total of Rp41.96 billion, including hotel PBJT of Rp1.71 billion and BPHTB of Rp4.18 billion.
