Crypto Tax Revenue Reaches IDR 1.71 Trillion by September 2025

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance reported that tax collected from cryptocurrency transactions reached IDR 1.71 trillion through the end of September 2025. The amount consists of Income Tax Article 22 of IDR 836.36 billion and Domestic Value‑Added Tax of IDR 872.62 billion. Figures cover the period from 2022 to September 2025.
Annual receipts rose from IDR 246.45 billion in 2022 and IDR 220.83 billion in 2023 to IDR 620.4 billion in 2024 and IDR 621.3 billion by September 2025. DGT spokesperson Rosmauli said the digital sector has become a new engine of national tax revenue. The government aims to strengthen tax administration for e‑commerce, fintech and crypto activities.
Overall, total tax from the digital economy reached IDR 42.53 trillion up to 30 September 2025, with crypto contributing IDR 1.71 trillion. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported 1,416 tradable crypto assets and 18.08 million users in August 2025, although transaction value fell 14.5 % in September. These figures illustrate both growth and volatility in Indonesia’s crypto market.
