UI Faculty Appoints Stefan Weishaar Professor for Carbon Tax

The Faculty of Administration at Universitas Indonesia (UI) held a ceremony on 20 October 2025 to appoint Stefan Weishaar, a tax expert from the University of Groningen, as an Adjunct Professor. The event was chaired by Dean Retno Kusumastuti Hardjono in the EDISI 2020 Auditorium, Depok.

The appointment aims to deepen cross‑departmental collaboration, especially in carbon tax research and broader international fiscal policy studies. Weishaar will deliver public lectures, workshops, and five‑day courses for undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students.

This academic partnership is expected to raise the quality of student research and provide a scientific basis for Indonesia’s carbon tax policy. Ongoing cooperation with the UI Tax Center will further develop carbon and environmental tax studies.
