Coretax Education Ongoing, System Must Stay Reliable for 2026

Coretax, the digital tax administration platform, has been running for almost a year since early 2025. In December 2025 the Directorate General of Taxes reaffirmed that education must continue and the system must stay reliable ahead of the 2026 Annual Return filing.

The initial rollout generated complaints about user difficulty and technical errors from both taxpayers and the system. The tax authority responded with face‑to‑face outreach, visits to offices, social‑media campaigns, and upgrades that improved latency, response time and transaction throughput, reducing disruptions and speeding up staff replies.

From the 2025 tax year, about 14 million taxpayers will file their Annual Returns entirely through Coretax in early 2026, requiring account activation and an electronic authorization code. System reliability is essential to sustain compliance and public trust.
