December 6, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

On Thursday, 4 December 2025, DDTC Academy conducted an offline practical course titled “Facing Tax Audits and Negotiations with Creativity, Empathy, and Humor – Batch 2” at the DDTC Tower in Jakarta. The one‑day session brought together 21 tax practitioners from various industries.
DDTC founder Danny Septriadi, S.E., ., LL.M Int. Tax, CHP, drew on more than 30 years of experience to teach Aristotle’s three rhetorical appeals: logos (logical data and evidence), ethos (credibility), and pathos (emotional influence). Together with humor researcher Ulwan Fakhri of the Indonesian Humor Institute, participants identified their personal humor styles to use strategically in tax negotiations.
The course highlighted soft skills—effective communication, empathy, and creative problem‑solving—that the United Nations Practical Manual on Transfer Pricing for Developing Countries cites as essential for fair audit outcomes. The limited‑size, interactive format with simulations allowed attendees to practice these techniques before engaging tax authorities.
