On 10 November 2025, the principal of Jakarta’s SMP Labschool, Yati Suwartini, and hundreds of students highlighted tax as a form of gotong‑royong during the Kemenkeu Mengajar 10 event, which also marked Independence Day and Heroes Day. The ceremony took place in Jakarta.
Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto explained that tax is the main source of revenue for the State Budget (APBN) and presented the topic through games and a Q&A session. He also introduced the Pajak Bertutur and Pajak Membaca programs and DJ Pustaka, the tax authority’s digital library.
The initiative aims to raise tax awareness among youth and foster a spirit of collective responsibility in managing public finances. Early tax education is expected to strengthen future fiscal compliance.
