Finance Minister Purbaya Teaches at Jakarta’s SMA 3 on APBN

JAKARTA, November 11, 2025 – The Ministry of Finance relaunched its Kemenkeu Mengajar program on Heroes’ Day. More than 7,000 ministry staff volunteered as teachers in 267 schools, including Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa who taught at Jakarta’s SMA 3.

The initiative aims to introduce the role of the State Budget (APBN) to young people so they understand government contributions to education, health, infrastructure, and social protection. Purbaya said that understanding APBN can reduce unfounded criticism and foster a sense of responsibility.

The event underscores the ministry’s commitment to preparing a generation that cares about the nation’s future and to raising awareness of the value of every rupiah. In addition to Purbaya, Deputy Finance Ministers Suahasil Nazara and Thomas Djiwandono also taught at other schools, expanding the reach of financial education.
