The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) for the Special Region of Yogyakarta signed a memorandum of understanding with Widya Mataram University (UWM) on 27 October 2025 at the university’s integrated campus in Sleman. The agreement was signed by DJP Regional Head Erna Sulistyowati and UWM Rector Edy Suandi Hamid.
The MoU establishes the 19th Tax Center in DIY, a hub aimed at improving tax literacy in higher education. With more than 105 universities in the region, the center will provide students with basic tax education, inclusion of tax topics in curricula, and opportunities to serve as tax volunteers (Renjani).
The partnership is expected to strengthen collaboration between tax authorities and academia, helping young people understand the contribution of taxes to national development. Follow‑up activities include tax awareness sessions, training workshops, and student involvement in tax‑related projects.
