Manufacturing Growth Q3 2025 Outpaces National GDP

JAKARTA – The government says manufacturing growth in the third quarter of 2025 exceeded the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increase. The figures come from the Statistics Agency (BPS), which recorded a year‑on‑year rise of 5.54%.

The 5.54% increase includes non‑oil and gas processing industries that grew 5.58%, while national GDP expanded only 5.04%. The Ministry of Industry reported that non‑oil manufacturing contributed 17.39% of total GDP, up 0.47 percentage points from the previous quarter. The boost was driven by stronger domestic and export demand, notably in food‑beverage, basic metals, and chemicals‑pharmaceutical subsectors.

Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita noted the sector remains the economy’s main engine and a significant job creator. The government will continue policies aimed at enhancing productivity and competitiveness to sustain the growth trajectory.
