JAKARTA – The Indonesian government reported that the average container dwell time, the period a container stays in port between arrival and departure, was 2.93 days for the January‑October 2025 period. The figure was presented by the National Single Window Agency (LNSW) during a briefing on 4 December 2025.

The national target is 2.87 days, so the aggregate average remains slightly above the goal. The October 2025 average fell to 2.47 days, but the overall figure was lifted by the two‑week Lebaran holiday, during which ports were closed and containers accumulated.

Reducing dwell time is challenging because Indonesia operates many ports, unlike transit‑oriented hubs such as Singapore. LNSW head Oza Olavia affirmed ongoing efforts to improve logistics efficiency before the end‑year target is met.
