The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reported that in the third quarter of 2025 household consumption contributed 53.14 % of gross domestic product (GDP) and increased 4.89 % year‑on‑year. The figures were released on 5 November 2025.
Other GDP components included gross fixed capital formation (PMTB) at 29.09 % and exports at 23.64 %. The rise in household consumption was driven by higher spending on transport, communications and on restaurants and hotels, reflecting stronger domestic tourism.
Overall economic growth slowed to 5.04 % in Q3 2025, with household consumption providing a 2.54 % share of the expansion, the largest single source. This underscores the importance of consumer demand for stabilising Indonesia’s economy.
