The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded a monthly inflation rate of 0.28 percent in October 2025. The annual inflation rate stood at 2.86 percent, up from 2.10 percent for January‑October 2025.
The main driver was personal care and other services, with jewelry gold prices rising 3.05 percent. Some commodities such as red onion, bird’s‑eye chili and tomato contributed to deflation, while core inflation was lifted by tuition fees and gold jewelry.
October 2025 inflation was the highest in the past five Octobers, pushing the Consumer Price Index from 106.01 to 109.04. The figures signal price pressure for households and inform monetary‑policy decisions.
