Jakarta, 31 October 2025 – Taxpayers must add a passphrase when creating a Coretax authorization code. The passphrase verifies that the electronic signature is made by the code holder.

A passphrase is a combination of letters and numbers entered during signing. It must be at least eight characters long and include uppercase, lowercase, digits and a special symbol; although it may match the Coretax password, using a different one is recommended. After creation, taxpayers can confirm the code’s validity through the Digital Certificate menu in the portal.

The requirement strengthens security for non‑certified electronic signatures and ensures proper authentication of tax documents. If the passphrase is forgotten, a new authorization code can be generated following the same procedure.
