Bantul Tax Office Guides UMY Staff to Register NPWP via Coretax

Tax officers clarified that the National Identity Number (NIK) does not automatically become an NPWP in 2025; taxpayers must still register their NIK in Coretax. Two mechanisms are available – Registration with NIK Activation and Registration Only – with the latter recommended for married women earning income from a single employer. Successful registration records the taxpayer in the system and enables download of an electronic NPWP card.

After registration, taxpayers can request a DJP authorization code or electronic certificate to sign their annual tax return (SPT), which must be filed by 31 March for individuals and 30 April for entities. The training is expected to improve tax compliance and allow UMY academic community members to manage their obligations independently.
