The Director General of Tax (Dirjen Pajak) signed the Addendum to the Common Reporting Standard Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (CRS MCAA) on 19 November 2024, reinforcing the Tax Directorate’s authority to receive and provide financial data to partner jurisdictions. The signing implements the Amendments to the Common Reporting Standard (Amended CRS) adopted by the OECD.

Indonesia has been conducting Automatic Exchange of Information (AEoI) on financial accounts since 2018 for the 2017 data year under the CRS and Law No. 9 of 2017. To align with the Amended CRS, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is drafting a Ministerial Regulation (RPMK) that will replace the existing PMK No.70/2017.

The forthcoming rules will expand reportable account types to include certain electronic‑money products and central bank digital currencies, and introduce safeguards against duplicate reporting with the Crypto‑Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). Reporting formats will follow the Amended CRS XML Schema, with data for the year 2026 expected to be exchanged in 2027.
