Tax Director Announces OTT of Two Staff, Emphasizes DJP Reform

Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto announced on 17 October 2025 that an operation to catch two tax officers who accepted bribes was completed. The announcement was delivered at a public forum attended by about 70 taxpayers in the DJP West Jakarta office.

The operation, carried out by the DJP Inspectorate, reflects the agency’s commitment to internal reform after dismissing 39 staff members within four months. The two officers were found to have received payments from taxpayers while a national leadership meeting was underway, highlighting oversight gaps.

DJP will strengthen supervision, expand the Coretax system that records all tax‑administration activities, and intensify taxpayer education. The newly launched Taxpayers Charter will serve as a social contract outlining rights and obligations for both taxpayers and tax officials.
