Set Up Coretax Account and E‑Signature for Annual Tax Return

Taxpayers in Indonesia will file their 2026 Annual Tax Return (SPT) through the Coretax system, which will be used exclusively for the upcoming filing season. The change replaces the previous manual filing method and aligns with the self‑assessment tax regime.

To submit the return, taxpayers must activate a Coretax account by validating their email, mobile number, and facial biometrics, and obtain an electronic certificate or authorization code for a digital signature. The account is created once; login credentials are sent to the registered email and must be changed at first login.

The Directorate General of Taxes notes that over 14 million returns were filed for fiscal year 2024, indicating high data traffic that requires taxpayers to be ready for Coretax. Thus, activating the account and securing a certificate are essential steps to ensure a smooth filing and support the tax authority’s digital service goals.
