The government, through Ministerial Regulation No. 25/2025, states that imports of moving goods must adhere to lartas provisions (restricted or prohibited items). The rule applies to household items brought back to Indonesia from abroad.

Lartas regulations are issued by relevant ministries or agencies, so importers must attach lartas compliance documents when submitting an electronic PIBK (Special Import Notification). Duty exemption is available for Indonesian officials, civil servants, military, police, or foreign nationals who will work or study in Indonesia.

Taxpayers should verify lartas status and file PIBK promptly to avoid customs duties and ensure smooth clearance. Compliance prevents penalties and secures the legally granted exemption.
