November 5, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes North Sumatra I (Kanwil DJP Sumut I) on 5 November 2025 blocked 310 taxpayer accounts simultaneously. The blockage was carried out at the request of the tax authority and implemented by banks following a written order.
The action forms part of the active collection strategy of the State Tax Enforcement Officer (JPN) coordinated through the Tax Service Offices (KPP) in the region, improving collection efficiency. It is grounded in Law No. 19/2000 on Tax Collection with a Forced Letter and Minister of Finance Regulation No.
The measure aims to prompt taxpayers to settle their liabilities promptly and to safeguard state revenue for national development. Collaboration between the tax authority and banks is viewed as essential for public confidence in tax law enforcement.
