National Nutrition Agency Caps MBG Production at 2,500 Meals

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) issued technical guidelines limiting the production of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) per Service Unit for Nutrition Fulfillment (SPPG) to a maximum of 2,500 portions daily. The limit applies to all SPPG operating across Indonesia as of 31 October 2025.

SPPGs that employ certified cooks may increase production to 3,000 portions per day. The restriction aims to ensure quality in processing, serving, distribution and food safety.

BGN reports that 13,514 SPPG are currently active in delivering MBG. With roughly 200 new SPPG added each day, the number of MBG beneficiaries is projected to reach 82.9 million by year‑end, highlighting the need for quality control.
