Kudus Regency to Charge Rp1,000 per m² for Street‑Coffee Vendors
October 28, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

Street‑coffee stalls have multiplied across Kudus Regency in Central Java. The regency government will impose a fee on these vendors starting November 2025, with payment due in early December.
The fee, defined as a charge for using public facilities such as sidewalks, is based on Regional Regulation No. 4/2023. BPPKAD head Djati Solechah said the Rp1,000 per square metre per day rate aims to boost regional original revenue (PAD) and organise vendor locations.
Payments will vary according to the area occupied and the number of operating days, so amounts differ among vendors. Collection will be carried out by the Trade Office, reflecting the authority’s effort to control the number and placement of street‑coffee businesses.
