Indonesia Tax Authority Sets Coretax Launch for 2026 SPT Filing

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) announced that Coretax will be used for filing Annual Income Tax Returns (SPT) starting in 2026. Director General Bimo Wijayanto made the statement at a public consultation forum in Jakarta on 20 October 2025.

Coretax is being upgraded to strengthen system security, but it remains under warranty from the service provider, so full handover is scheduled for 15 December 2025 after stress testing and audits. About 20,000 DGT staff will conduct stress tests from October to November 2025, and the system was built by LG CNS Qualysoft Consortium selected through a government tender.

After handover, DGT will further develop the platform to meet tax service needs and aims to accept 2025 tax‑year filings in 2026. Taxpayers are urged to activate Coretax accounts, obtain authorization codes and electronic certificates; by 16 October 2025, 2.5 million taxpayers had activated accounts, of which 1.2 million received authorizations.
