Indonesia Tax Authority Expands Coretax Outreach for 2025 Returns
October 21, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance has expanded outreach for Coretax, the primary digital system for filing 2025 annual tax returns (SPT), in a thematic forum held at the DJP headquarters in Jakarta on 20 October 2025. More than 190 public‑relations officers from 68 ministries and agencies attended to disseminate the information to taxpayers.
Coretax will replace the current DJP Information System (SIDJP) and provide an integrated suite covering registration, filing and tax payments, with multi‑layer authentication and two‑factor verification to protect taxpayer data. Deni Surjantoro, Head of the Communication and Information Services Bureau, highlighted the need for taxpayers to activate their Coretax accounts and obtain authorization codes before the filing period begins on 1 January 2026.
The DJP plans an internal pilot involving 20,000 staff from October to November 2025, followed by stress testing and audits before the official handover scheduled for 15 December 2025. Upon successful completion, Coretax will serve as the platform for filing the 2025 tax year in 2026, aiming to speed up processing and improve accuracy of tax administration.
