Govt Covers 6% VAT on Domestic Economy Flights for Holiday Season

The government, via Minister of Finance Regulation 71/2025, will cover 6% VAT on domestic economy‑class air tickets. The incentive applies to ticket purchases from 22 Oct 2025 to 10 Jan 2026 and to flights operating 22 Dec 2025 to 10 Jan 2026.
The 6% VAT is calculated on the reimbursement amount, which includes the base fare, fuel surcharge and other fees. Passengers still bear a 5% VAT share. The calculation follows PMK 131/2024 and an example is provided in the annex of PMK 71/2025.
