Government Launches Simbara for Five Mineral Commodities

Jakarta, 5 November 2025 – The government officially launched the Mineral and Coal Information System (Simbara) to optimize tax revenue from coal, nickel, tin, bauxite and copper starting this year.

The use of Simbara by ministries and agencies is mandated by Presidential Regulation No. 94/2025 issued on 11 September 2025; the platform links data, policies and oversight, includes an Automatic Blocking System for environmental, forest‑use or labor violations, and adopts the IEA and OECD traceability framework.

Simbara aims to improve transparency and compliance, serve as a digital model for managing strategic commodities, and will be gradually extended to additional commodities after 2026 through technical meetings with four key ministries.
