Jakarta, 30 October 2025 – The President issued Instruction No. 4/2025 directing 18 ministries and agencies to integrate the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) for tax administration purposes. DTSEN consolidates Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS), Social‑Economic Registration (Regsosek), and Accelerated Poverty Eradication Data (P3KE).

Indonesia’s economy faces pressure from global uncertainty and the need to raise state revenue without eroding purchasing power. By identifying social‑aid recipients who have moved out of the poverty zone, DTSEN can cut inclusion errors—such as the 5.6 million beneficiaries whose income exceeded the minimum wage in 2023‑2024. More accurate targeting could save the government between IDR 101 trillion and IDR 127 trillion in assistance budgets.

The Directorate General of Taxes can use the National Identification Number (NIK) within DTSEN to expand the taxpayer base, especially informal workers, micro‑SMEs, and middle‑income earners, through final income tax or VAT. Major challenges include regular data updates, cross‑verification with civil registration, and ensuring cyber security. Properly managed, DTSEN can strengthen tax redistribution and support the Indonesia 2045 Golden Vision.
