DJP Urges Taxpayers to Activate Coretax Account Ahead of 2025

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance is urging all taxpayers to activate their Coretax accounts before the 2025 annual tax return (SPT) filing period begins. The appeal was made during a media briefing in Jakarta on 21 October 2025.

Coretax, the new digital filing platform, can be accessed only by taxpayers who have activated an account. As of 20 October 2025, roughly 2 million individual taxpayers (about 15 % of the 14.5 million target) and 500 thousand corporate taxpayers have done so. DGT has also prepared a Guided Coretax Simulator with a tax calculator, slated for release for individuals in November 2025.

Account activation is a mandatory step for a smooth filing process on the new system. The current low activation rate may delay overall tax compliance for 2025, prompting the tax authority to promote the simulator as a preparation tool for taxpayers.
