DJP East Java II Assists Lamongan Villages in Tax Compliance
November 7, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

On 7 November 2025, the East Java II Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) conducted a joint monitoring and evaluation of village tax obligations with Lamongan Regency’s Community Empowerment and Village Agency and the Lamongan State Prosecutor’s Office. The event brought together 40 village heads and 22 sub‑district heads in Lamongan.
The activity aims to strengthen coordination between the tax authority and village administrations to ensure tax liabilities on village fund management are met. Officials noted that early detection can prevent criminal tax sanctions and improve fiscal accountability. Since village funds are sourced from the state budget, low tax compliance could affect future allocations.
DJP East Java II intends to replicate the monitoring in all districts under its supervision, including Jombang, Sidoarjo, and Madura. Authorities emphasized that the assistance seeks to enable villages to fulfill obligations without proceeding to investigations. Adequate compliance is expected to safeguard state revenue and ensure smooth financing of village development projects.
