DJP Drafts RPMK Tax Center Rule, Strengthening University Ties
October 15, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

Indonesia's Directorate of Guidance, Services, and Public Relations of the Tax Authority announced the drafting of a Minister of Finance Regulation (RPMK) on Tax Center governance at a forum of the DJP Regional Office II in East Java, Sidoarjo, on 15 October 2025. The draft aims to provide a legal basis for universities that operate Tax Centers.
The RPMK will outline the rights and obligations of the Tax Authority and partner universities, enabling more directed, transparent, and sustainable collaboration. A Tax Center functions as a campus unit that conducts tax research, education, training, and outreach for students, staff, and the public. It also assists the Tax Authority by offering taxpayer consultations, annual tax return guidance, and preparing students as tax volunteers.
The guideline, expected to take effect in 2027, is intended to strengthen the partnership between the Tax Authority and universities, improve tax education quality, and support taxpayer compliance, especially for micro, small, and medium enterprises through volunteer programs. Coordinated implementation may enhance transparency and continuity of tax-related cooperation.
