DJP: Coretax Activation Required Only for Registered Taxpayers

Indonesia's Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) says that not everyone is required to activate a Coretax account (online tax administration system). Activation is mandatory only for taxpayers who already have an NPWP or are registered with their ID number and need to access tax services.

Coretax is used to fulfill tax rights and obligations, such as issuing tax receipts, signing, and filing the annual tax return (SPT). Starting next year, individual taxpayers must file the 2025 tax return through Coretax, making activation a prerequisite.

The tax authority urges taxpayers to activate their accounts promptly rather than waiting until January. Activation is done by clicking the red button on the Coretax portal and then creating an authorization code, a verification tool for electronic signatures.
