Dharmasraya Regency Cracks Down on Unpaid Advertising Tax
November 7, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

A joint team of Dharmasraya Regency’s Regional Financial Office and the municipal police carried out a mass dismantling of advertising boards that had not paid the advertising tax on Friday, 7 November 2025, in Dharmasraya, West Sumatra. The operation targeted billboards whose tax periods had expired.
Earlier, the financial office identified advertisements with overdue taxes and issued warning letters to the owners. When no good faith response was received, the police were authorized to remove the ads, most of which were tobacco promotions lacking permits.
The enforcement aims to boost the region’s own-source revenue and maintain public order and road safety. All advertisers, whether corporate or individual, are urged to register and pay the tax to fund local development projects.
