US Senate Urges Trump to End Reciprocal Import Tariffs
DDTCNews•

The United States Senate passed a resolution on 31 October 2025 with a 51‑vote majority, urging President Donald Trump to halt the reciprocal import tariff regime. The vote took place during a plenary session in Washington, D.C.
All Democratic senators and four Republican senators supported the measure. Three Republican senators opposed it, arguing that the tariffs have yielded economic benefits, including a new bilateral agreement with China.
The resolution still requires approval from the House of Representatives before it can take effect. The House, led by Republican members, has so far blocked a vote on the tariff policy.
