On 29 October 2025, Thailand's Trade Minister Suparjees Suthumpun dismissed circulating rumors that the import duty for certain goods shipped to the United States had been set to zero percent. The government affirmed that the applicable rate remains nineteen percent.

The United States imposes a reciprocal tariff of nineteen percent on Thai products entering the US market, and no new agreement has altered this figure. Thailand and the US continue talks aimed at reducing non‑tariff barriers, such as vehicle safety standards and health‑product certifications.

Consequently, Thai exporters must still pay a nineteen percent duty when supplying goods to the United States, without any benefit from a zero‑percent rate. Officials note that ongoing negotiations could eventually lead to lower tariffs, but no concrete decision has been reached yet.
