The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) Jakarta Central partnered with the Jakarta Central City Government to launch the Kick‑Off Meet‑The‑Market Business Development Services (BDS) 2025 on 30 October 2025 at the Auditorium of the Madya Tax Service Office in Jakarta. The event introduced a mentorship program for 21 selected micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKMs). DJP’s Director of Outreach, Services, and Public Relations, Rosmauli, stated that the initiative aims to improve UMKM quality and revenue.

The BDS program, first introduced in 2017, offers training in online marketing, product photography, and tax and financial literacy. A seven‑week curriculum also provides access to financing through the Ultra‑Micro Credit (KUR) scheme and teaches a white‑label business model. This positions the tax authority as a strategic partner rather than solely a fiscal regulator for UMKMs.

Enhanced marketing skills and tax awareness are expected to raise the turnover of the 21 UMKMs and enable compliance with the final income tax rate of 0.5 % for revenues exceeding IDR 500 million. Successful implementation could strengthen the UMKM sector’s contribution to the national economy. The program will continue through early December 2025, culminating in a UMKM product bazaar.
