Taxpayer in Pati Receives SP2DK Despite Compliance and PPS

A taxpayer registered at the Pratama Tax Office in Pati filed a complaint through the “Lapor Pak Purbaya” WhatsApp channel on 25 October 2025, stating that he received a Letter of Request for Explanation (SP2DK) despite meeting his tax obligations. He confirmed that monthly employee PPh 21 filings, corporate PPh 25 payments, and participation in the voluntary disclosure programme (PPS) were all completed.

Nevertheless, the tax office issued the SP2DK to the taxpayer. The taxpayer argued that no technical reason existed because he had filed and paid taxes and joined PPS, while the account representative (AR) threatened an audit if his request was not accepted. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa read the complaint and ordered the Inspectorate General to pursue the matter independently.

Inspector General Awan Nurmawan Nuh stated that the Inspectorate will handle the case independently, while coordinating with the Tax and Customs Directorates during implementation. This independent handling reflects the government’s effort to ensure fairness for compliant taxpayers. The incident highlights the need for clear SP2DK procedures for those who have participated in PPS.
