On 4 November 2025, the Industropolis Batang Special Economic Zone (KEK) signed utilization agreements with six companies, committing a total investment of Rp456.76 billion. The ceremony took place in the ballroom of the KEK management building in Batang Regency.

KEK Director Ngurah Wirawan said tax incentives, particularly a tax holiday, are a primary draw for investors. The six firms—PT WKI, PT Novatex Industry Indonesia, PT Woodpark Mebel Indonesia, PT Isni Teknologi Konstruksi Indonesia, PT San Bao Canyin, and PT Cinlong Culinary Indonesia—are investing in manufacturing, eco‑yarn textiles, furniture production, and food‑and‑beverage services. Their projects include a Rp120 billion shoe‑sole plant, a Rp102 billion eco‑yarn facility, a Rp225 billion furniture factory, and two F&B tenants with investments of Rp4.3 billion and Rp717 million respectively.

The new projects are expected to boost foreign direct investment and generate thousands of jobs in Batang and surrounding areas. The integrated development of industry, commerce and tourism aligns with Indonesia’s strategy to build a sustainable business ecosystem.
