Tax Authority Seizes Rp16.69 Billion from Tax Evader in

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, together with the Attorney General’s Office, carried out an asset seizure of the defendant identified as S from 14 to 16 October 2025. The execution took place in the jurisdictions of the Yogyakarta and Central Java High Courts, covering vehicles, land and buildings.

The seizure follows Supreme Court decision No. 842 PK/ dated 10 April 2025, which rejected the defendant’s review and imposed a fine equal to twice the unpaid tax, amounting to Rp16.69 billion. Because S failed to pay the fine within one month after the final judgment, his assets were seized for auction to recover the loss.

This enforcement action underscores the tax authority’s role in safeguarding state revenue and ensuring fiscal justice. Tax officials remind all taxpayers to submit complete and accurate Tax Returns (Surat Pemberitahuan) and fulfill their obligations on time.
