Tanjungpinang City Cuts Property Taxes, Waives Penalties

The City of Tanjungpinang in the Riau Islands has launched a tax discount program for Rural and Urban Property Tax (PBB‑P2) and Land and Building Acquisition Duty (BPHTB) from 20 October to 30 November 2025. The initiative marks the city’s 24th anniversary.

The PBB‑P2 discount depends on the tax year: 50 % for 2005‑2012, 30 % for 2013‑2018, and 20 % for 2019‑2024. All tax penalties are waived, leaving taxpayers to pay only the principal amount. BPHTB receives an automatic 24 % reduction on the total tax for any acquisition request.
