Sukabumi Tax Office Suspects Villages Yet to Forward PBB Deposits

The Regional Revenue Office (Bapenda) of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, reported on 25 October 2025 that some villages have not yet forwarded deposited Property Tax (PBB) payments to the district treasury. The investigation identified arrears in several villages.
Head of Bapenda, Herdy Somantri, said 250 villages are in arrears and that some villages have achieved less than 50 % of the tax collection target. He urged villages to promptly remit the deposited PBB to prevent any misappropriation.
Herdy warned that the tax arrears could delay infrastructure projects, especially as the central government’s transfer is expected to be reduced by Rp725 billion in 2026. He called on taxpayers to settle their obligations so that the region’s own revenue remains sufficient.
