Katingan Regency Teams with Office to Collect Tax Arrears

On 26 October 2025, the Katingan Regency in Central Kalimantan signed a partnership with the Katingan District Prosecutor’s Office to streamline the collection of local tax arrears. Tax arrears refer to taxes that have not been paid by taxpayers. The agreement aims to accelerate the recovery of outstanding tax liabilities.
Katingan’s Head of Regional Tax Office, Eka Suryadilaga, said the parties executed a Special Power of Attorney (SKK) and agreements numbered 100.3.7.1/1/PKS‑KTGN/1/2025 and B.02/0.2.18/Gs/01/2025 to handle the arrears. The goal is to strengthen law enforcement, boost Regional Original Revenue (PAD), and align with the Corruption Eradication Commission’s directive for active tax collection. The total amount of arrears was not disclosed.
Eka expressed confidence that the prosecutor’s support will speed up arrears settlement, leading to higher PAD for Katingan. The initiative also reflects the local government’s commitment to transparent and accountable financial management. It is expected to improve taxpayer awareness and compliance in the region.
