Karawang Regency Rules Out Property Tax Hike, Boosts Local Fees

Karawang Regency announced that the Land and Building Tax (PBB) will not be increased in 2025. Regent Aep Syaepuloh made the statement during a press briefing in Karawang on Tuesday, 4 November 2025.

The decision reflects the current economic hardship, aiming to avoid additional burdens on households and businesses. The regent dismissed rumors of a tax hike up to 600 % and highlighted that revenue will be sourced from local fees such as parking charges, groundwater usage, and other services.

This approach preserves tax stability for residents and industry, while a merger of several government offices is intended to reduce regional spending. Authorities plan to optimize non‑tax revenue to sustain public services.
