In the first year of the Prabowo‑Gibran administration, Economy Minister Airlangga Hartarto said Indonesia’s economy remained strong, inclusive and resilient despite global uncertainty. He highlighted stable macro‑economics, a healthy financial sector and rising investment, noting an IMF Managing Director called the country a “brightspot”.

Airlangga listed flagship social programs such as the free nutritious‑meal (MBG) scheme that reached 36.7 million people with 1.1 billion portions, created 394,748 jobs and involved 12,508 SPPG. The government also granted scholarships to 9,705 low‑income students, built 10 new Garuda schools, renovated 16,140 school buildings, and provided free health checks for 43 million citizens. Additional measures included credit for 3.46 million UMKM, 221,047 subsidized houses, 100 new fishing villages and debt relief for agricultural‑sector micro‑enterprises.

To boost growth in the short term, the state will inject Rp200 trillion into the banking system and launch the 8+4+5 incentive package, while the medium‑term plan targets an 8 % GDP increase through infrastructure investment, sustainable downstream industrialisation and digital‑enabled UMKM support.
