DPR Flags Rp234 Trillion Unspent Funds, Contradicts Local Govts'

Member of DPR’s Commission II, Ahmad Doli Kurnia, said that regional governments have Rp234 trillion of funds sitting idle in banks. He made the remark in Jakarta on 25 October 2025. He called the situation contradictory to the frequent claims of budget shortfalls by local authorities.
The Ministry of Finance’s data records the unabsorbed amount. Doli asked both the central and regional governments for explanations, warning that the mismatch could create public confusion and policy distortion. He urged coordinated action between the two levels to resolve the issue.
Without adequate clarification, the situation may become counterproductive and slow development. Doli highlighted the need for clean management of Transfer to Regions (TKD) funds and faster regional spending. Effective coordination is expected to ensure allocated budgets translate into national development outcomes.
