DGT Offers Tax Debt Restructuring for 200 Defaulters in 2025

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the government will pursue 200 tax defaulters in 2025. Director General of Taxation Bimo Wijayanto announced that the tax authority will allow debt restructuring. The statement was made at the DJP headquarters in Jakarta on 9 October 2025.

Restructuring aims to ease payments for taxpayers facing economic hardship by offering installments, extensions, or reduced penalties. The legal basis is Article 113 of Ministerial Regulation No 81/2024 and Article 19(2) of Law No 28/2007, which permit installment or deferred payment with an administrative interest rate. Applications are processed within five working days.

While the debt is not cancelled, the adjusted payment scheme is expected to improve tax compliance and ease fiscal pressure. DJP will also coordinate with OJK, BPKP and PPATK to block assets and accounts of non‑cooperative taxpayers. The measure underscores the government’s effort to reorganize tax receivables.
