Uzbekistan Offers 5‑Year Tax Incentives for Satellite System
October 25, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The Uzbek government issued a presidential decree on 21 October 2025 granting tax incentives for building a satellite communication system in the country. The incentives will be in effect for five years, starting 1 January 2026.
The package includes three incentives: exemption from import duties on equipment and parts, exemption from VAT on satellite telecom services, and tax relief for satellite operators. The measures aim to extend communication services to sparsely populated remote areas. Authorities also plan to create regulations for medium‑ and low‑orbit satellites and licensing of satellite internet services.
The satellite system is expected to boost communication infrastructure and create opportunities in education, healthcare, logistics and security. High‑speed satellite internet will enable smoother online services for schools and hospitals in remote locations. This initiative forms part of Uzbekistan’s digital‑economy development strategy.
