Purbaya to Issue Regulation on Tax Consultant Supervision

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa will issue a Ministerial Regulation (PMK) on tax‑consultant supervision. The announcement was made at the 6th anniversary event of PERKOPPI in Jakarta on 22 October 2025.

The PPPK highlighted that tax consultants act as intermediaries between the tax authority and taxpayers, requiring competence development, ethical standards, and practice guidelines. The forthcoming PMK will replace PMK No 175/2022 and include collaboration with professional associations for continuous professional education.

The regulation aims to formalize the tax‑consultant industry, boost credibility, and ensure only licensed consultants provide services. Taxpayers and businesses are expected to benefit from improved compliance support.
