Minister Purbaya Receives 15,933 WhatsApp Reports in Two Days

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said that 15,933 reports were submitted through a WhatsApp group addressed to him over the past two days. He disclosed this information during a media briefing at the Ministry of Finance on 19 October 2025.

Among the submissions, 2,459 were congratulatory messages, 13,285 are still being verified, and 10 have been earmarked for action, including a complaint about customs officers gathering at a Starbucks coffee shop. The minister also confirmed that the “Lapor Pak Purbaya” WhatsApp service (0822‑4040‑6600) has been active since 15 October 2025 for tax and customs-related complaints.

The service creates a direct channel for the public to report alleged violations, enhancing internal oversight and accountability within the Ministry of Finance. Authorities pledged to follow up on reports that are complete and verified.
