Jakarta, 28 October 2025 â The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) officially launched the National Industrialisation Strategy (SBIN) as a new policy direction to strengthen Indonesiaâs economic selfâreliance. The launch took place during the 2025 Kemenperin Working Meeting led by Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita.
SBIN outlines four pillars: resourceâbased industrialisation, ecosystem development, technology mastery, and sustainability. The resource pillar targets downstream processing of commodities such as nickel, palm oil and coal, while the other pillars stress upstreamâdownstream integration, skilled human resources, and greenâindustry principles.
The strategy prioritises domestic market protection, with about 80âŻ% of industrial output expected to be consumed locally, and will tighten Local Content (TKDN) requirements and adjust import tariffs. It also promotes export of higherâvalue products, notably batteryâbased electric vehicles, and calls for regulatory reform and investment incentives to generate quality jobs.
