Government Opens State Treasury Accounts in AUD and CNH
October 14, 2025 • Ben Asmadeus

The government opened Treasury (KUN) accounts in Australian dollars (AUD) and Hong Kong yuan (CNH) on 10 October 2025. The opening follows Finance Ministry Regulation (PMK) No. 66/2025 and is conducted through Bank Indonesia.
PMK 66/2025 replaces the earlier PMK 31/2012, which only permitted KUN accounts in rupiah. The AUD account carries number 600.502311980 and the CNH account number 600.502115980; both are intended to receive all state revenues and fund expenditures in their respective currencies. KUN is the official account where tax receipts, non‑tax revenues, and grants are held.
Adding these two foreign currencies brings the total KUN accounts to six – rupiah, US dollar, Japanese yen, euro, AUD and CNH. Dedicated accounts allow the government to manage foreign‑currency cash flows directly rather than through the rupiah account. This arrangement can streamline international payments and improve state financial reporting.
