Bengkulu Province Bills Companies for Rp39 Billion Water Tax

Bengkulu Province will issue tax bills to companies in the construction, mining and plantation sectors for unpaid surface water tax amounting to Rp39 billion. The bills are slated for dispatch this week, following Vice Governor Mian’s statement on 4 November 2025.

The collection drive follows a realization rate of only 50‑60 % of the water‑tax target, indicating many taxpayers have not paid. Bapenda officers are conducting field verification to match each bill with the company’s water usage.

The measure aims to accelerate the realization of Regional Original Revenue (PAD) and meet the year‑end revenue target. Settling the arrears will strengthen a strategic funding source for provincial development.
